Broadway Bound & Blog Hop!

How fun is this - I received my Broadway Bound Bundle and goodies from the suite, a few days ago, and just in time for our team blog hop! YAY!  This month we're featuring products from the brand new Annual Catalogue!  Exciting!!!

I totally fell in love with the Broadway Bound Specialty DSP!  Let me say, the photo in the catalogue doesn't do justice to this gorgeous paper.  I was having a tough time deciding which pattern to use, so I used two patterns...and a bit --- I'll explain that soon!

My card base is Basic Black, which turned out to be perfect for this card! I had actually started with Granny Apple Green, then Lovely Lipstick, but quickly realized Basic Black was the winner!
The two layers are both Broadway Bound Specialty DSP.  I layered the striped piece onto Basic Black.

I used one of the dies from Broadway Lights Framelits to cut the Basic Black cardstock.  Next, I stamped the sentiments in Lovely Lipstick.  For the 2-step stamp 'Wish' I first used Granny Apple Green, then Black Memento Ink, with the dotted stamp in the Broadway Bound set.

Ah....and now to the 'and a bit' of DSP.  On the reverse side of one of the Broadway Bound DSP sheets are adorable little party hats in a variety of colours and patterns.  The Lovely Lipstick and white hat caught my attention, so I cut it using a die from Broadway Lights.  Super cute or what!

For the finishing touches of the card, I first stamped the hats in Granny Apple Green (stamping off first to achieve a light image), then I stamped the sentiments in Lovely Lipstick.

The Broadway Bound Suite of products is sure to be top of the list for many, and I can see why!
When you want a fun set, this one is perfect!

Here are the patterns of paper from the Broadway Bound Specialty DSP.  Even more, or shall I say way more pretty in person!

More Love for Rooted in Nature!

Sometimes I refer to myself at Little Miss Procrastinator.  True.   ðŸ˜Š  My workshop last Thursday was at 6:30 pm, and I finished prepping the last 2 of 4 cards at 3 pm.  Call me crazy! Thankfully, I had everything packed up and ready to go in loads of time, and the workshop went very well.

Today, I have 2 of the cards we made at the workshop to share with you!  The Rooted in Nature bundle, may I say, is so versatile, and that's what we all want from our stamps & supplies, right?!

We started with a Petal Pink base, then a Whisper White layer was added.  The tree was stamped in Gray Granite then die cut using the Nature's Root Framelits.  Next we stamped the sentiment, from Detailed with Love, in Calypso Coral, and die cut it using one of the dies from Stitched Labels Framelits.  Before adhering the sentiment layer to the card, we added Nature's Twine in Grapefuit Grove, and then added mini dimensionals, and a bow.
The patterned papers are both from Nature's Poem DSP.  There are so many gorgeous patterns in that pack of paper!

For the inside of the card, we stamped the large leaf stamp from Rooted in Nature into Gray Granite, and stamped off once onto our grid paper, then onto the Whisper White layer.  Our 'Best Wishes' sentiment is from Stitched all Around.  We stamped it in Calypso Coral.
I think this was my favourite card of the workshop!

But wait!  I promised 2 cards, so here's the next....

I cased this card from Leena Girsa, my upline, and just changed up the colours a bit.
The base & layer are Blackberry Bliss and may I say a huge 'Thank You' to Stampin' Up! for bringing this colour back - it's so rich and lucious!  Before adhering the layer, we ran it through the Big Shot, in the Woodland embossing folder.
The Nature's Poem DSP was cut at 3 1/2 x 4".   Next, we adhered a 5 1/2" piece of Blackberry Bliss Nature's Twin, using glue dots placed on the back of the DSP,
It's a little hard to see, but there is a piece of Wood Textures DSP die cut by one of the of Layering Circles Dies. That piece was adhered to the card under the Nature's Twine.
The leaves are in Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove and Copper Foil, and all were embossed then die cut with the Nature's Roots Framelits, then adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
We stamped a couple of leaves onto Whisper White cardstock, stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss, then cut with the Everyday Label punch.  The finishing touches are a bow made with Linen Thread and a Copper Leaves Trinket, both adhered using glue dots.

I'm certain I had the ladies stamp a leaf image, however I changed it up a bit and used the tree rings image from Rooted in Nature & Grapefruit Grove ink, stamped off once.  Last step before adhering the layer was to stamp the sentiment from Rooted in Nature, in Blackberry Bliss.

Wow...when I read what I wrote, it sounds like a lot, however this was a quick and easy card to make!

Rooted in Nature - Stampin' Up!

My sincere apologies to the hot weather lovers as I say - oh my gosh this chilly June weather is glorious!!  After those few days of heat & humidity, I thought my gardening would never be finished (and it's not yet LOL), but it's getting close!  Just a few more chilly days and I'll be set. 😊

Enough with the weather - let's talk cards!  Woot!  So, every Tuesday, barring any appointments, I go live on my Facebook Group Lolly & Sand, where I chat, do a giveaway draw, make cards, goof up a bit, and definitely have fun!  Today was no different!  I couldn't stamp straight.  Seriously, although I managed to get it right on my 'last try'.  I do think it's okay to goof up, we're all human (right?) 😉

I made 3 cards during the video, with the first being the easiest to make - what I like to call Sweet & Simple cards.  You know me, and how much I love Whisper White, so I chose it for the base & layer. The stamp set I used is called Rooted in Nature - sure to be a best seller!  Do the ink colours look familiar?  Mint Macaron & Blackberry Bliss are back- three cheers!!

I randomly stamped the large leaves first, then followed up with the small leaves.  The detail in these stamps is outstanding!

Just before finishing the card, I added Wink of Stella to the sentiment, for a wee bit of sparkle. It looks white in the photo, but I assure you it's sparkly.  I then cut the 'flag' end of this layer with my Banner Triple Punch and popped it up using dimensionals.

Here's the finished card.  What do you think?  Thumbs up?

The second card uses the same stamp set, Rooted in Nature, and a little die cutting.  Again, super easy.  For this card I used the same base & layer as the first card, plus just one ink colour - Tranquil Tide.  I used the small leaf image, and stamped it as though the leaves were falling.  To achieve the illusion, simply stamp some of the images partly off the paper.

What a great sentiment.  It suits this card perfectly!

To finish this card I stamped then die cut the leaf using my Rooted in Nature dies.  If you decide you want both the stamp set & dies, purchase them as a bundle and save 10%.

Now, on to the last card.  Again white on white and using the Rooted in Nature bundle.  I cased this card from Mikaela Titheridge, and changed up the colours & sentiment.

I ran my Whisper White layer through the Big Shot several times, using the embossing die in the Rooted in Nature bundle.

I then stamped the tree image twice onto Whisper White cardstock, using Smoky Slate ink, thenem die cut both, again using a die from the Rooted in Nature bundle.   One tree was then glued onto the layer, and for the other tree, I sniped off the trunk, and popped up the top of the tree using dimensionals.  Notice the trees are slightly offset.

The combination of Smoky Slate & Granny Apple Green makes me happy!  Soooo, I stamped the sentiment, from the Rooted in Nature bundle, the using my snips, cut them apart.  This time I used the mini dimensionals, which I cut in half and placed on the back of each section of the sentiment.

I wonder if you can guess which card is my favourite.  Hmmm.... 😊
