Happy - A Retirement card

Do you remember the old television ad for Rice Krispies, where the woman throws some flour on her face to give the appearance she had worked hard at making delicious Rice Krispie treats for her family?  Well, this card kind of reminds me of that ad.  Super quick and easy.  Shhhhh, I worked for hours and hours...

Writing the message inside the card way longer than it did to make the card.  Sometimes I know what I want to say, yet it doesn't convert so well when I write, but no worries, after my third attempt I was happy!  And, whew - I hadn't already attached that layer!

Although 'happy' would work for many occasions, this is a retirement card for a lovely woman at work.  After 40+ years with the same company, having worked not only with me, but my mom as well, she's hanging up the headset, stepping away from her desk, and leaving for a well deserved retirement.  I'm so happy for her!

Happy...

Another week is sailing by, and it's winter (for real this time).  Snow, blowing snow,  snow shovelling.  Get my drift LOL.  Snow or no snow, I'm happy.

Which brings me to this 'happy' card. I haven't decided if it will be a birthday, anniversary, or another happy occasion card.  I will though, When it's time.

January apparently brings organization into our homes and lives.  It also brings clean and simple into my card world.  Why complicate - am I right?

All the goodies I used in this card are Stampin' Up products.  I'm not an SU demonstrator, but here's a link to my friend and awesome demonstrator. http://alacards.blogspot.ca/

Time to shovel, I've put it off long enough.

Stay crafty and see you soon.

Happy!

Happy Sunday and happy long weekend for Canadians!  I have the song Happy by Pharrell Williams in my head, and as I sit typing this post my feet are doing a little happy dance, so I was thinking how appropriate it would be to show you my Happy card today.

When I made this card, I originally thought it would be for a birthday, but it would also make a great wedding or anniversary card.  Or...as is - a happy card.  Needless to say, as usual, I haven't added a sentiment inside - keeping my options open for now.

I love the embossed flower image; so pretty!  As you can see, I added a few 'pearls' and went with a subtle sparkle paper for 'Happy'.

Clearly I'm feeling pretty darned happy today!  I hope you're weekend is happy too!

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Crafting!
