Stampin' Up! Box of Sunshine Paper Pumpkin

I received my June Paper Pumpkin kit yesterday afternoon, and what a pretty box!  The fun and colourful cards had me at hello 😄

My before picture.  I haven't decorated the box yet...but I will, afterall this is the Box of Sunshine!  Our CEO, Sara made sure there were extra pieces to decorate the box & then fill with goodies and give it to someone special, to brighten their life with a little sunshine!

For this kit, I'm decided to make the cards (mostly) per the instructions, but my inky fingers had another idea and I had to cut the card front and layer it onto Whisper White cardstock.

Two of the other card styles from the kit - can you picture sending or receiving these cards!  I love the gold foil, because you know bling is the best!

The contrast of the bright yellow with the black & white polka dots is amazing!  I think this is my fave design in the kit!!  

It's definitely worth mentioning the envelopes with the pretty gold foil design!  You can see an envelope peeking out from under the card.  As I write this, the kit is beside me, open, with the cards inside - it makes me happy!


If you want to order the July kit, you'll need to do so before July 11.  Having said that, kits sometimes sell out quickly, so I recommend not waiting.

What Did You Miss?

A fun evening!  Last night was my Wrapped in Plaid Girl's Night Out, and it was soooo fun!

Each guest received a gift bag with their Wrapped in Plaid bundles, and any extras they ordered, plus, a table favour....filled with chocolate.  The bowl of...yes...chocolate was a bit hit.  I mean really...it's chocolate!  Yum!

There were a few surprises as well...but I can't say what they were as I want to surprise the guests at my upcoming events.

I can tell you though, that everyone made 4 lovely Christmas cards and they all turned out amazing!

I really wish you could see the shimmer from the Wink of Stella we used on the card bases.  It's lovely how splattering just a bit, made the cards a-w-e-s-o-m-e!  

The Wrapped in Plaid bundle is a holiday must-have!  As is the Delicata Golden Glitz ink we used on the tree and sentiment is gorgeous with the Wrapped in Plaid DSP.  

Btw, have you seen the DSP - gold accents on the paper - be sure to add it to your shopping list!!

Our 2nd card is a fun-fold and other than the front left panel layer embossed using the Scripty folder, this is a one layer card!  We used Whisper White Thick cardstock.  Do you love Night of Navy and Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic ink?  Truly striking!

A super quick & easy card to make, and a bit of a show-stopper if I do say so myself! 😊

EasyStamparatus Stamping! Stampin' Up!

Ah...the Friday of a long weekend here in Canada!  I hope you get an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the weather, and the beautiful fall colours! The best!

I have a quick video for you, plus the measurements for this card!

 In this video I'm demonstrating the fabulous Stamparatus! Talk about making stamping easy!! 

Make one card or multiples with this awesome stamp positioning tool.

Start with the base of the card. Lovely Lipstick cut at 4 1/4 x 11 & scored at 5 1/2 (all in inches) 

Basic Black layer - 2 1/8 x 5 3/8

Whisper White layer - 2 x 5 1/4

Whisper White inside layer - 4 x 5 1/4

Per the video, place your Whisper White layer in the Stamparatus.  I used Lovely Lipstick ink for the sentiment from the Floral Frames Stamp set.

This stunning rose image is from Healing Hugs.  I stamped directly onto the card base using the Stamparatus for two of the roses, then again onto a scrap piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock. It was super easy to fussy cut the rose.  I popped it up on dimensionals for added depth.

Using the same rose, I stamped off the ink, pressing lightly onto my grid paper, then onto the Whisper White inside layer.  I love the softness of the image achieved by stamping off.

I added a few Faceted Dots for a finishing touch!

Simple & pretty!

Point Pelee Mini Vacation & a Fall Stamping Project

We went on a wee travel excursion to check out the partial eclipse on Aug 21. My son researched the best place in Canada to see the eclipse, and it turned out to be Point Pelee, the most southern mainland in Canada.  Arriving a day early gave us a chance to check out Point Pelee National Park. It's lovely and the Marsh Boardwalk was the coolest!  We had gone during the day, but it was so hot and busy with tourist, we decided to go back in the evening. There were hardly any people on the boardwalk, and at about the halfway point on the boardwalk we stopped. Silence. It was so quiet - almost surreal.  So peaceful.  Just a few sounds of nature. 

This was taken from the look-out on the upper level.  The pic is a bit overexposed but still, almost picture perfect.

Viewing the eclipse through a monocular.  We had people taking pictures of this - cool, eh!!

Other than the eclipse, what you're looking at is our welding glass shield.  My son put the welding glass between two pieces of cardboard.  Simple, and perfect. 

 This pic was taken before it got busy. How wonderful to have so many people converge at the same place, same time to witness this astronomical event! By the way, that little bit of land just after the water is the point.  It's in constant change, which makes sense, so the next time I'm there I'm certain it will look quite different.  The current just past the point is quite strong and swimming/wading isn't permitted. But, going into the water to get to the point is okay, and thankfully - it was SO hot!

We took pics of the eclipse about every ten minutes.  What an awesome event!  

In 2024, we'll experience a total eclipse right here in Canada, and I'm really really really looking forward to it!! How about you?!!

On to a bit of stamping! Here's the beginning stages of a little project I'm working on for our next team meeting. 

I'm a huge fan of fall, and fall weather!  The colours I've used remind me of...you guessed it - fall.
