Hello There | Scrappy Strips | Sun Prints | Positive Inkers Global Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome Crafty Friends to our Positive Inkers 1st of the month blog hop!  I'm especially excited for this hop as we're featuring the Designer Series Papers (DSP) from Stampin' Up! They're all beautiful so I can't wait to see all the gorgeous creations!

I love love love this paper - the patterns are fascinating!  Colours in the Sun Prints DSP are Gray Granite, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Starry Sky.

Here's my finished card!

I chose Night of Navy for my cardbase, followed by a Basic White layer embossed using my Hive 3D folder.  It's a great folder to use for a background that doesn't overpower the design!

Next, I cut strips from the Sun Prints paper, and glued them onto a piece of Basic White.  Be sure to watch my Video Tutorial for measurements & tips!

I love a simple greeting, and I L-O-V-E the font!  It's so super pretty!  Truth - all the greetings in the Nature's Prints set are pretty!  I cut the sprigs using dies from the Nature's Prints Bundle which is all part of the Sun Prints Suite Collection!

All the products I've used are available at my online store - link to shop is further down in this post.  In the meantime,

Playful Pets Scrappy Strip Technique & Blog Hop!

Isn't this the cutest paper ever!!  My first thought when I saw it in the catalogue - I NEED this paper! And, when I heard about Kylie & Bruno Bertucci's #scrappystriptechnique Challenge I knew Playful Pets DSP would be perfect!

I love this technique - it's fun and it's easy!  Cut strips on a bit of an angle and arrange them on a backing piece.  If you haven't decided on the size of this layer, you can always cut it down once all the strips are dry.

This card was screaming for heat embossing, so I took the Thank You and I'll be right by your side from Loyal Leaves and Queen Anne's Lace respectively.  The banner ends on the Thank You were cut using the Banner Triple punch.  For the second sentiment I used one of the Tasteful Labels dies.

I don't have the coordinating dies as of yet, so I fussy cut this cutie pie!  He's layered on Playful Pets DSP, which I cut using one of my Stitched Shapes dies.  The Real Red scallopped piece was cut using a Layering Circles die.

This is a pretty 'busy' card, so to give a bit of separation, I added a strip of Real Red cardstock that I had embossed using the Dainty Diamonds 3D folder.   What a great texture & pattern!

Let's not forget about the cats in the Playful Pets DSP!  The 'cat' card is featured in my video!  Be sure to check it out!

Here's the video

Chunky Scrappy Strips Father's Day Card

To all the wonderful dads!  My Dad would have loved this card because he enjoyed golfing.  Also, because Dad had Alzheimer's - it would have been visually appealing to him!

This is my of the #scrappystrip technique that I'm calling Chunky Scrappy Strips because I cut the pieces quite wide.  Another difference from other scrappy strips card is that I adhered the strip to patterned paper instead cardstock.  Speaking of patterned paper - how awesome is this Country Club DSP.  Those golf carts and that argyle - YES please!

Oh boy am I going to miss the Hand-Lettered Prose dies! If you don't have them, get 'em soon - they are retiring and available only while supplies last  I die cut the letters twice, in Basic Black, and Basic Gray, then glued them together, offset just a tiny bit.

My cardbase is Basic Gray, with a layer of Basic Black. I added a strip of Crushed Curry to break up the pattern and focus on 'dad'.  My finishing touch was to add a silver Designer Elements.  These embellishments are also retiring, and are price reduced - so hurry!

The supplies to make this card are shown below.  Simply click on the images to purchase. I  have a special offer for you - click HERE to find out how you can get the Mega Tutorial FREE!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Stay Crafty!

Trio of Good Morning Magnolia Cards!

I used the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle to create these cards for you today!

I used the Spotlight Technique to create this card.  This was my first attempt, and I can say, it's very easy - you'll definitely want to give it a try!  And...if you haven't tried Stampin' Blends, you need to..they make colouring & blending super easy!

Another easy & effective technique!  I stamped the floral image in Basic Gray onto Whisper White, then ran it through my die cutting/embossing machine using the Corrugated 3D Folder.  Isn't the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon pretty!

My last card is a little more involved than the first 2 in that I did the Scrappy Strip technique, heat embossed the largest floral image from the stamp set, and die cut it.  I did finish the card inside using a leftover piece from the Scrappy Strip I made.

Be sure to watch the video to see & hear more about all 3 cards!
