Tranquil Tulips from Stampin' Up!

I thought I would try something a little different today - jumping right into the details of my card today.

There is something so striking about a black and white card with a pop of colour!  I love it, and just in case you're wondering, I briefly pondered a white card base, but it was too plain for this card.

I cut the base of the in Basic Black, then embossed the layer of Berry Burst cardstock using my Softly Falling TIEF.  Those gorgeous floral images are from Tranquil Tulips. I'm lovin' the colour combo of Berry Burst and Old Olive for the tulips and leaves!  How about that amazing font on the sentiment - elegant and the perfect size for the oval in my Stitched Shapes Framelits.

You know me - must pop up those sentiments with dimensionals!

I was asked to leave lots of room for a personal message.

One thing I want to mention is Tranquil Tulips is a host set.  What that means is, when you place a qualifying order, or host a party (virtual or in person), you could get this set FREE! To book your party or place an order, simply click on the Contact Me tab at the top of the page.

Tip

When working with a two-step stamp, such as Tranquil Tulips, take a few minutes practice stamp the images on your grid paper. It's super easy to be two-step pro!

In Gratitude

I have wonderful neighbours!  Last evening my neighbour trimmed our shared hedge, which is awesome as I don't have that tool.  We share a boulevard so I cut the grass there often.  In winter (gasp, I said winter!!), if we have a heavy snowfall, my other neighbour clears my driveway and sidewalk with his snowblower.  I noticed this neighbour was away, and his lawn was in need of a cut, so I took care of it.  One couldn't ask for better neighbours. 😊

Daisy Delight Sneak Peek

I had the pleasure of attending a bridal shower for my nephew's finance this past weekend. There was such a wonderful glow on the face of a bride-to-be - joy, happiness, and love. They are lovley couple and I'm so happy for them and their future life together. The wedding later this month. Exciting times!

Today I'm delighted to show you the card I made for the shower. I cut the base, layer & flowers from Whisper White cardstock, then embossed the layer using my Softly Falling TIEF (textured impressions embossing folder),  This card features a sneak peek of the brand new stamp set Daisy Delight. I stamped two flower images with Melon Mambo ink, then used my new co-ordinating Daisy punch. To layer, I simply offset the flowers. For the centre of the flower I used a Clear Faceted Gem - also new for 2017-2018. To finish the card I stamped the sentiment from Best Birds and used a retired punch to cut it out.  On the inside, I stamped the flower image in the bottom right corner of the stamp.

As you know, I'm a fan of clean and simple cards that have a 'WOW', and for this card, the Daisy in Melon Mambo is it!  You don't have to wait long to purchase these new products - June 1st is just around the corner!

Whisper White and Melon Mambo - love love love!!

Back to the shower for a moment...
We had a couple of challenges - I failed at both...LOL

The Guess Who Game had 20 questions.  Here's a few: Who takes longer to get ready? Who is always running late? Who keeps their car cleaner?  Of the 20 questions I got a whopping 7 correct. Ouch! The winner was the mother of the bride with 17/20 - awesome!

Needless to say my guess was waaaayyy off! 😊
