Amazing You | Artfully Layered | Positive Inkers Global Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome Crafty Friends to our Positive Inkers blog hop!  We hop on the 1st of every month, and our theme for March is Mini Catalogue products!

Here's my finished card!  I used the Artfully Layeredd Bundle from the Mini!

I find myself using colours that remind me of our family cottages and all the wonderful summers we spent there and at the beach.  One cottage was white with green shutters, thus the inspiration for my card today!

When subtle aspects are used for a card, you can use many without making the card look too busy.  For example, the strip of Dot embossed cardstock gives a light an airy look, as does the tiny writing on the Layering Designs Vellum and Basic Rhinestone Jewels.  So....I could go bold with the greenery & sentiment!  It's a balance 😄

It's no secret that the Artfully Composed Suite from Stampin' Up! is my #1 favourite from the Mini catalogue and will remain in my craft stash for a very long time!  I love how easy it is to apply colours to the leaves to attain many different looks.  The leaves for my card are 1st and 2nd generation stamping - an awesome technique I use often!

All the supplies used to create this card are available by contacting me or clicking on the images below.  Don't forget, for all orders over $60 (before tax & shipping) to include my current Host Code and I'll send you a small gift.

Please continue on the hop to view all the wonderful creations!

Amazing You Home Decor

What a glorious weekend!  The weather (yes, we're talking about weather...again), although windy, was spectacular!! I hope you had time to get outside and enjoy a walk or other activity!

I participated in a community event/craft sale on the weekend and had the home decor piece below on display.  I'm guessing by now you know that paper crafting with Stampin' Up! can be more than cards & gift tags!  On a thrifting day, I found this unique frame and instantly fell in love - especially with the galvanized steel!

I had been playing with my Brushos on a full sheet of watercolour paper and achieved a variety of super cool backgrounds.  Once the paper dried, I die cut the watercolour paper & black fun foam using letters from the Large Letters Framelits,

Next I die cut the butterflies using my Butterflies Thinlit Dies, also from the same Brusho-coloured watercolour paper.

Here's how I put this together.
The base is Pool Party, and I added a layer of Wood Textures DSP.  Next, I adhered Delicate White Doilies and the butterflies.  The word 'Love' is popped up with Dimensionals.
The last two die cuts are from the Celebrate You Thinlit Dies (free during Sale-A-Bration).  Lastly, I used Pool Party for 'amazing' and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for 'You'.

Let's Celebrate Amazing You!

Hi and welcome to my weekend edition blog post.  Happy Family Day weekend to my Canadian friends!  I hope you are enjoying your three day weekend!

What better way to spend some time than to get inky!  The cards I created have something in common.  They all use the same stamp set - Amazing You, which is FREE during Sale-A-Bration!  I love the versatility of this set!

I used Note Cards for each of the card bases.

For the layer, I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 2 3/8" x 4 7/8".  Next, I inked up the stamp in Old Olive, and randomly stamped the image.  I adhered the layer with Multi-Purpost Liquid Glue.  The sentiment was stampin in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White cut to 3" x 7/8", then punched using my Banner Triple Punch and popped up with Dimensionals.  The last step was to stamp 'You' in Old Olive on a 1 1/4" x 1/2" Whisper White scrap.  I also used the Banner Triple Punch.

On this card I stamped onto the card base using Calypso Coral.  What I love about this colour is how soft and fresh it is and how well it goes with Old Olive.  The sentiment layer is 3" x 1 1/2" with one end punched using the Banner Triple Punch.  Naturally, I used Dimensionals to pop up the sentiment.

Last but not least, is my Rich Razzleberry & Basic Gray card.  The layer is 3 3/8" x 4 7/8", and stamped with both images from Amazing You.   I added a  1" x 4 7/8" piece of  Whisper White to break up the layer from the sentiment.  So, lastly to the sentiment.  I cut the piece 1 7/8" x 2 1/2" and added Rich Razzleberry ink to the edge.

I'm curious!  What do you think of the simplicity of these cards? My thought behind these cards was to show you how easy it is to create simple and pretty cards, even with limited supplies.  Check out the list of products at the end of this post.
