Dashing Deer Season's Greetings Blog Hop & A Bonus Project!

I've chosen a true star from the current Annual catalogue - the gorgeous Dashing Deer, for my blog hop feature!

Start with a base of Early Espresso cardstock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score a 4 1/4 and fold
Add a layer of Come To Gather DSP - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Cut a 4 1/2 piece of Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon, place across the layer and wrap ends onto the back, adhering with Glue Dots.  Tie a bow & adhere with Glue Dots.
The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas, and it's stamped in Early Espresso & cut using the Classic Label Punch.

On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the deer using Early Espresso Ink, then die cut using one of the Detailed Deer dies.
Die cut the Come To Gather DSP using the 2nd largest Stitched Nested Die, & adhere the deer using Multi-Liquid Glue. Adhere this layer onto the card using Dimensionals.
I love sparkle, so I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and 'splattered' Clear Wink of Stella to the card.  It doesn't show in the pic, but it's there! 😊

I love this sentiment from the Dashing Deer stamp set.  It's stamped in Early Espresso, as is the deer, although the deer was stamped off once.

For more Dashing Deer inspiration, here's my Tuesday @10am video!

Bonus Project!

I was inspired by another demonstrator who used our Craft Pillow Boxes as a treat holder!
To make it:
Lay the box flat & cut at the 3 inch mark.
Wrap a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon around the box, then cut and adhere using Snail or Glue Dots rather than a liquid glue.
Emboss a small piece of Copper Foil paper using the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder,
and cut using the Tree Punch.  The gorgeous Brightly Gleaming DSP with the copper stars is simply lovely!

From the Christmas Gleaming set, I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Delicata Celestial Copper ink and 'fussy cut' it. The trees and sentiment are adhered using Dimensionals and Glue Dots.
Wouldn't this be a wonderful little place holder at Christmas dinner!

I would love to hear your thoughts on my card & bonus project - please leave me a comment!

Dashing Deer - Stamping Symphony Blog Hop

I'm just back from OnStage in Orlando, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Stampin' Up!  With 6,000 demonstrators from all over the world, you know it just had to be FUN!!  Oooh, and we received lots of freebies - an awesome perk for attending conferences.  Prize Patrol is the best, especially when it's stamps from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue & Sale-A-Bration Flyer! You are going to love this new catalogue!!  Exciting!! Read to the end of this post to find out how to get your hands on the catalogue & flyer.

This is the card I made for our blog hop using the Dashing Deer stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue, and it's super quick & easy to make!

How to make this card (measurements are in inches):
Cut Merry Merlot cardstock for the base of the card - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, and scored it at 4 1/4.
Next use the little stamp from Dashing Deer, and do some tone on tone stamping, in Merry Merlot.
Cut Copper Foil at 2 1/2 x 5 3/8, then cut Joyous Noel DSP  2 3/8 x 5 1/4  & adhere the 2 pieces using Multi Purpose Liquid Glue.  Use Dimensionals to pop up this layer.

Cut Copper Foil paper with the Starburst punch.
Cut Copper Foil paper with the Everyday label punch, then cut in half using Paper Snips.
Stamp the sentiment from Dashing Deer in Merry Merlot onto Shimmer Paper, then punch using the Everyday Label punch. Adhere the 2 halves of the Copper Foil punched pieces to the sentiment.
Adhere the Copper Starburst to the card, about half way under the layer.
Cut a 4 1/2 piece of Burlap Ribbon & trim the ends like a banner, then adhere using Snail adhesive.
Adhere the sentiment layer.
Almost done!

Cut Whisper White cardstock at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Stamp the sentiment & deer from Dashing Deer using Merry Merlot ink.
Adhere using Multi Purpose Liquid Glue.

What do you think?
Although I wrote a lot of instructions, the card truly is easy to make!  Give it a try!
