Hello Beautiful - Scrappy Strip Technique

Staying connected via the internet is a blessing in these difficult times, which is why I made the decision to share what I love, and I love creating!  During and after my Facebook video today, my spirits were lifted!  You can view my video further down in this post.

This card was made using the Peaceful Poppies DSP.  I enjoyed the input of my viewers, thus the infusion of red! Nothing like a wee pop of colour!

With 5 Facebook videos this week, I can assure you they'll all be happy, inspiring, encouraging cards, and for this card I chose a sentiment from Butterfly Gala, which I stamped in Rich Razzleberry and cut using the Starburst Punch. Behind the sentiment is vellum, cut using one of the So Sentimental dies.

For a couple of finishing touches, I cut 2 butterflies from Peaceful Poppies DSP using the Butterfly Duet Punch, and added Basic Rhinestones.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope I've helped to brighten your day!

If you need supplies, and live in Canada, please consider purchasing through me.  I appreciate your business.

Your Friendship is a Blessing

I was inspired by Bruno Bertucci's Scrappy Strip Technique and just knew I had to give it a try!

This isn't a new technique, and it's been ages since I last made a card like this...so...it was definitely time!

It's very easy!  Use your paper trimmer to cut your favourite paper - I used Peaceful Poppies DSP.
Note: be sure to cut your DSP longer than the background piece.
Choose your background base - mine is Basic Black
Use Tombo Multi Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the DSP pieces as you're going to want the wiggle time when placing the paper.
Once all the DSP has been adhered and the glue is dry, trim the edges to match with the background base.
This isn't a new technique, and it's been ages since I last made a card like this...so...it was definitely time!

Before adhering the layer onto the card, I cut a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon for a bit of texture.

Next, I heat embossed one of the sentiments from the So Sentimental stamp set onto Basic Black then cut it using a die from Stitched So Sweetly.  To save 10% (and you can too), I purchased the stamp set & dies as a bundle - the So Sentimental Bundle.

As an added touched I adhered Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the back of the sentiment.  I love that ribbon!!

Not to be left out - bling bling!  I added a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

It's a quick & easy technique, perfect for using up your scraps of DSP.  I hope you'll give it a try!

Under My Umbrella - New Mini & Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peek

I am loving the new Under My Umbrella Bundle!  The images from the stamp set are super cute as are the sentiments!  This is just one of the many gorgeous products from the new Mini Catalogue coming out on January 3rd!

This is the card from my Tuesday@10am Lolly & Sand video (which is below with all the how-to make this card details)

Wondering about that purple polka dot paper?  It's from the new Peaceful Poppies DSP that you can purchase it on January 3rd!  Every sheet in that DSP pack is stunning so if you want it, order it early! My thought is that it's going to sell out fast!

I did a light colour-wash in Pool Party on the Whisper White layer before adding the Bermuda Bay raindrops.  The boots & flowers are an easy fussy-cut.  Aren't they cute!!
Want to add a bit of texture & depth to your cards?  Embossing is key!  The Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder adds that little somethin'-somethin' this card needed!

Those little meerkats are soooooooooo adorable - I had to include this little guy in my card!
He's stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured with both light & dark Crumb Cake Blends.  The Gang's All Meer is from Sale-a-bration &  you can get this set FREE with your qualifying order!
Peaceful Poppies DSP makes a lovely spring-like umbrella - so pretty!
I made little loops using the Daffodil Delight 1/4" Ruched Ribbon from the Birthday Bonanza Suite. I I l-o-v-e that ribbon and that it matches perfectly with the flower I coloured using my Daffodil Delight blend.  The addition of a Red Rhinestone Basic Jewel is all the bling this sweet card needs.

Here's my Tues Dec 17th video

The new Jan-June Mini Catalogue products will be available as of Jan 3rd - and that's when Sale-a-bration kicks into gear!!

If you don't already have a demonstrator, I would appreciate your support and will send you both the new Mini & Sale-a-bration catalogues.  (Canada only)
