Wishing You Much Happiness

Happy Tuesday everyone!  May seems like a good time work on wedding cards, wouldn't you agree!

Are you wondering why you can't see the card base?  There's no cardstock - it's true!  The base of the card is the amazing Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP!

My choice for the sentiment was easy!  The So Sentimental stamp set has gorgeous phrases & fonts, and for an elegant look, I heat embossed this lovely sentiment using Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder on Petal Pink cardstock, then cut it with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Did you know when you purchase the stamp set & dies as a bundle you save 10%!

These dies - delicate & pretty.....swoon!  My thought - the Ornate Border dies are a must-have for your crafting!

To finish the card, I cut a short piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon & Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding, then pinched them together using Glue Dots to make a 'ribbon sandwich'.  Lastly, I die cut one of the flowers from the Ornate Border dies, adhered it with a couple of Glue Dots, and added 3 Basic Rhinestones for the perfect amount of bling!

I Can't Thank You Enough

If there's a silver lining during these troubling times, for me, it's being able to inspire you!  And I'm inspired by you!

For my cards today, I used the Beautiful Friendship & So Sentimental stamp sets!

I had seen a similar card on Pinterest and knew I had to make it and put my own twist on it.  The colours I chose: Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Blueberry Bushel and Pear Pizzazz.  Aren't they a pretty combo!!

My card base is Poppy Parade and with a layer of Night of Navy (oops...it should have been Blueberry Bushel...but it still works!)  Before adhering the layers, I added Linen Thread for a bit of texture.  Lastly, I inked up the sentiment (from So Sentimental) and stamped onto the already die cut (using Layering Circles) piece of Whisper White.

Here's the second card we made during the video:
I also found a similar card to this on Pinterest, and you guessed it...I made it!  This time, the colours are a bit more dramatic: Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron, Pretty Peacock & Blackberry Bliss.  I wouldn't have thought up this combination without a bit of trial and error.,,,aka trying different colours.  These aren't from the same colour family, and I'm 100% okay with it!  What do you think?

Your Friendship is a Blessing

I was inspired by Bruno Bertucci's Scrappy Strip Technique and just knew I had to give it a try!

This isn't a new technique, and it's been ages since I last made a card like this...so...it was definitely time!

It's very easy!  Use your paper trimmer to cut your favourite paper - I used Peaceful Poppies DSP.
Note: be sure to cut your DSP longer than the background piece.
Choose your background base - mine is Basic Black
Use Tombo Multi Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the DSP pieces as you're going to want the wiggle time when placing the paper.
Once all the DSP has been adhered and the glue is dry, trim the edges to match with the background base.
This isn't a new technique, and it's been ages since I last made a card like this...so...it was definitely time!

Before adhering the layer onto the card, I cut a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon for a bit of texture.

Next, I heat embossed one of the sentiments from the So Sentimental stamp set onto Basic Black then cut it using a die from Stitched So Sweetly.  To save 10% (and you can too), I purchased the stamp set & dies as a bundle - the So Sentimental Bundle.

As an added touched I adhered Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the back of the sentiment.  I love that ribbon!!

Not to be left out - bling bling!  I added a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

It's a quick & easy technique, perfect for using up your scraps of DSP.  I hope you'll give it a try!
