Happy Birthday & Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper

Hello friends!  I love sharing things that inspire me.  Today I drew inspiration from my morning walk.  Spending time outside this time of year is simply amazing!  Gardens are bursting with spring flowers.

My card features one of the lovely prints in the new Delightful Daisy DSP.  This paper is WOW!

I used  Wisteria Wonder cardstock for the base of the card, then added Delightful Daisy DSP for the layer.  Not wanting to cover too much of the layer, I used my Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to die cut Whisper White paper.  The sentiment is from the new Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, which I cut using my Classic Label punch.

Delightful Daisy DSP - gorgeous double sided papers!

Fun with Watercolours

I truly enjoy making cards, yet it's funny, or weird, or perhaps just the way I create - I 'work' or rather, play card maker when I'm inspired.   Earlier today I thought, I should make a few cards, but there I sat, moving papers around, getting frustrated, and we all know that's no fun.  I did what was best - I walked away.

Where do I find inspiration?  Here, there, and everywhere - anywhere.  It's never forced - it just happens.  Soooo, I was watchin' X-Files (with the lights on), and sketching, then - inspiration, and I headed back to my craft room.

Over the coming days, I'll be posting cards I completed today.  For each of my watercolour cards, I used Bister powders - experimenting - fun!

This card makes me smile - it's a happy Happy Birthday card.  At first I considered orange for the base but it kind of overpowered the pinks and oranges.  I was moved to pick up a white base and inspiration!  As for the butterflies - I had them in my stash of butterflies. They were also made using Bister powders, but I used photo paper rather than watercolour.  The pic doesn't show it, but they're super shiny.  Stamp on the sentiment and done!  Love!

Here's what I realized today.  When I make cards that bring me joy the card reflects exactly that - joy!
Stop by again soon - I'll be posting cards I completed today,

Happy Crafting!\

Whoa....wait - by the way - did you catch the song reference?

Up Up and Away!

...in my beautiful balloon.  Am I showing my age?  Does anyone remember that song?  I thought of it when taking the picture of the card.

Speaking of beautiful - what a beautiful day in Southern Ontario with the sun shining and temperature around 10 celsius.  My house faces west, the afternoon sun is wonderful, and I have a card to show you that was inspired by today!

I used one of my favourite embossing folders for the layer, and I tried out my new Balloon Framelit from Stampin' up!....love it!  Check out the adorable bow, which is in that Framelit set. Everything except the pink glitter paper is from Stampin' Up!  By now you've probably figured out how much I love their products.

If off to enjoy the rest of the day.  Hope you like my Up Up and Away Happy Birthday card!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Pretty in Pink - Happy Birthday

Who doesn't love pink & sparkles!  And balloons, and birthdays.

And movie references...lol. I do!

I also like five minute cards.

I used an adorable cutie-pie pink textured paper for the card base, and added a part layer of embossed white paper.  Wow - almost done.  Love Stampin' Up! products!!!

To continue - I added in glitter paper balloons, a balloon string stamped image, Happy Birthday sentiment and this pretty in pink birthday card is done!

That's all for today - thanks for stopping by!

Happy crafting!
