Sunshine Wishes & Gold Embossing

Lazin' on a sunny afternoon - that's me.  I'm taking time to relax and enjoy this beautiful day.  Can you believe it's the last day of July!!??

Today, I have a pretty wedding card made using one of the images in the Wood Words stamp set from Stampin' Up! It's been a while since I've used Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  It's such a rich colour! I stamped the floral image a few times, in different directions, then used my heat tool on the gold embossing powder.  This may be the first time I've used my Gold Foil Sheets.  Using my Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, I die cut 'Love', then with dimensionals, popped up the sentiment on the card.

Here's another look at the embossing. Gorgeous or what!!!!???

For the sentiment, I inked up my Rich Razzleberry Stamp Pad.  You'll find this stamp in the Colourful Seasons set.  Isn't the font is amazing!  Once stamped, I used the oval from Stitched Shapes Framelits, added a few Gold Faceted Gems and oh yes, popped up the sentiment with dimensionals.

Tips

Cut dimensionals into thin strips to pop up die cut words.
Less is more.  A bit of bling is perfect 😊

In Gratitude

I'm feeling so grateful to be able to do what I love.  I love card making and being creative. Stamping and painting is my creative outlet.  Without Stampin' Up! and the coordinating papers, inks, stamps, dies, punches and so much more, I truly believe I'd have a mish mash of supplies. Not the case though...whew!

Just for You Watercolour Words Stampin' Up!

Do you ever have one of those days when you know you need to do something but you can't quite put your finger on it?  I hope you just said yes 😊

At our monthly team meetings, we pick a card challenge for the following month. I remembered that part LOL.  The part I forgot was to post it on our group page before the meeting.  Soooooo, when I started seeing pics of new cards, at first I couldn't figure out what was going on.  But then, thankfully, the lights came on....teehee!

Without further ado, here's the card I made for the challenge - which, by the way,  was to choose a colour you don't really like and also, to heat emboss.  Sounds easy, doesn't it.  It wasn't though, however I decided on Garden Green.  Naturally, now that I've used it, I really like it!!  And as for heat embossing, I admit, I've been avoiding it. Read on....

With my Garden Green ink pad in hand, I stamped the fabulous floral image from the Wood Words set onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  I actually stamped it several times - a few times directly from the ink pad, and a few stamped off.  That means I inked up the stamp, then stamped onto my grid paper, and then onto the cardstock for a light/dark effect,  I love that look!

I chose the sentiment from Watercolour Words - so pretty!  I've always loved the 'magic' of heat embossing, and done in Gold Embossing powder, can I just say, WOW!!!  And it was so easy!  I promise to heat emboss often!  After embossing, I used my Stitched Shapes Framelit to die cut the oval, then popped it up with dimensionals!  For added bling, I used my Faceted Gems.

Stampin' Up! Say Hello Friend with a Bouquet Bunch

Getting a bouquet of fresh cut flowers is such a wonderful treat!  Pair that up with a lovely card and you'll be the toast of the town!

Staying with the theme of flowers, I have a soft and subtle card to show you today.  At first I thought my Brick Wall embossing folder might not give the look I was going for, but done on Whisper White cardstock, it's just the right contrast to the softness of the flowers

I die cut the stems and flowers in Whisper White using my Boutquet Bunch Framelits.  The bow was also cut from the same framelits, but I used Colour Theory DSP.
There are limitless possibilities with the Bouquet Bunch Framelits!  What will you make with them?

Hello Friend, stamped in Island Indigo is from the Wood Words set.  Once stamped, I used my Stitched Shapes Framelit to die cut the oval shape. then popped the sentiment up on dimensionals to add depth to the card

Here's a closer look at the flowers and bow.  To get the watercolour effect on the flowers, I used my Aqua Painters and Marina Mist ink and purposely left white areas.
As mentioned above, I die cut the bow in Colour Theory DSP.  I had first tried Whisper White card stock, but I wanted something different.  I love the kind of wrinkly look of the bow.  Such awesome versatile DSP!

Tips
If you want your flowers to have the watercolour look, be sure to apply the ink lightly with the Aqua Painter.  Also, give the items a few minutes to dry before adhering them to the card

Do you ever get into one of those moods where you're giddy and full of laughter?  I'm not sure why I feel this way today, or who/what to thank, so perhaps I'll 'go big' and thank the Universe. 😍

A Note for You, plus Embossing Paste

Two words - cold feet!  Brrrrr it's a chilly day for July! Although, having said that, it's a nice break from humidity.  Well, as it's a bit overcast, my card today is a nice little pick-me-up!

I completely underestimated how much I would love Embossing Paste!  Honestly, when I first saw it in the catalogue actually flipped the page!!!  True!  But since then....it's been love love love!

I made three different shades Embossing Paste using Island Indigo, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight.  Then applied small amounts over the Pattern Party Decorative Mask taped over the Whisper White cardstock, until all the colours had been used.   Notice the mixing of colours on the card front that made even more shades.  Love it!

When the embossing paste dried, I adhered it to the Island Indigo base.  The sentiment, from Wood Words, was stamped in Island Indigo, then die cur using an oval from Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I used a larger oval from the same framelit set for the sentiment layer.  Those three little Glitter Enamel Dots added a sweet little touch of bling. So pretty!
