Welcome my crafty friends to another Positive Inkers Global Design Team Blog Hop! Our theme for this hop is Non-traditional Christmas colours.
For my card, I used the Perfectly Plaid & Merry Moose stamp sets. All the products for this card as well as all Stampin' Up! products can be purchased through my Online Store.
Using my Water Painters, I pretty much soaked the Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper. Next, I placed a drop or two of re-inker onto my largest acrylic block, diluted the ink with a bit of water and 'painted' the colour onto the watercolour paper in about a 1.5 inch strip. Then I carried on with the next colour, and so on, until the paper.
Re-inker colours: So Saffron, Mango Melody, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Cinnamon Cider, Gorgeous Grape, Magenta Madness. What can I say - I like playing with colours!
Once dry, I heat embossed the tree image using White Embossing Powder.
And then....I cut them using the Tree Punch. The trees I chose for my card were Pool Party, Balmy Blue and Flirty Flamingo with So Saffron.
I embossed Whisper White using one of the Wrapped in Texture embossing folders, then cut it using a Tasteful Label die. Do you see a bit of sparkle? That's our Black Glitter Paper from the Aug-Dec Mini Catalogue! I cut it using the largest scalloped Layering Oval die. To bring balance to the card, the card base is Basic Black.

Sandy, I love this - in my holiday card classes each year, we do a non-traditional color. And this year they assigned me yellow! I've been scratching my head for 2 weeks, but your creation is AMAZINGLY perfect. I can't wait to try and come up with my own version with yellow to stun them. I also appreciate the link to your blog to read how you did it. Thanks for sharing!
