Colour Challenge | Positive Inkers Global Design Team

Hello again wonderful crafty friends and happy October!  On the first of each month is the blog hop for our Positive Inkers Global Design Team and this time we have a colour challenge! It's always exciting to see the amazing cards from the team!

Here's my card!

I love love love the greenery die from the Artistically Inked Bundle!  It's great for cards year-round and has limitless creative possibilities!

Did you notice the heat embossing on the Basic White layer?  I used one of the floral images from Artistically Inked and white embossing powder.  It's subtle yet shiny and makes a lovely background!

I chose these colours for our challenge for a few reasons - they're gorgeous together and they coordinate with the Tidings of Christmas DSP (designer series paper), which I've used on my card!

Have you purchased this DSP as of yet?  It's so pretty!

On a half sheet of Basic White, I used my Blending Brushes along with Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen inks.  To avoid a murky mix of colours, I did my best to get the colours close together without overlapping them.  I then used Pear Pizzazz to go over any light bits where the first two colours weren't touching.

Next, I adhered an adhesive sheet to the back of the paper, and cut the greenery using a die from the bundle (see below).

When purchased as a bundle, you save 10%!

My base is Cherry Cobbler as is the first layer, which I embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D folder.

When I checked my stash of cardstock....I.....gasp....was out of Sahara Sand!  But, not to worry, I used a bit of the Tidings of Christmas DSP!  Whew!

It's a little bit hard to see the pattern on the in the photo - however I assure you it's also from the Tidings of Christmas DSP.   So wait - what?!  I used Christmas paper on my birthday card!  Versatile DSP - oh yes!

I heat embossed the sentiment from Artistically Inked in gold onto Vellum then cut the banner end using the Tailored Tag punch.  And lastly, I added a few of my In Colour Jewels!
