Playing with Colours - Flowering Foils Stampin' Up!

Mid-way through the week and Facebook Live video 3 is done! Two more this week, with requests to keep doing daily videos, which I thought about, and I will, however I am taking the weekend off.
😄

Sale-A-Bration Flowering Foils & a Blog Hop!

You can colour the gorgeous Flowering Foils using Stampin' Blends, Sponge Daubers and our Sponge Brayer. For this card I've chosen the first 2 options. Follow this link to see my lovely hombre card background using the Sponge Brayer.

To create deep, rich flowers, I used 3 ink colours - Blackberry Bliss, Real Red and Mango Melody. You can get a similar range of colours using 1 or 2 inks, simply by adding more ink to your Sponge Dauber. I was experimenting and curious to see what would happen with the 3 very different colours! A mystery, for sure!! I started with the Blackberry Bliss and ended with Mango Melody, Then coloured the leaves and berries in Old Olive & Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends respectively.

Give yourself permission to play with colours! You might surprise yourself!

For the sentiment, which is from Peaceful Moments, I head embossed in white, then cut the end using the Banner Triple Punch. Oh...and the bling - those are from our Noble Peacock Rhinestones!

I haven't given enough love to our Terracotta Tile cardstock....until today!! Who knew the coloured flowers would be such a perfect match!?! The layer is Crumb Cake, embossed using the Brick & Mortar folder. I love that little extra texture!

Flowering Foils Birthday

I can't stop playing with the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP, and for this card I've used 2 of the patterns.

Foil paper isn't the easiest to photograph, but I think you can see the hombre look of this card.

If you don't have our sponge brayer, you need them in your craft room! To colour the Flowering Foils paper, I inked up the brayer in Gorgeous Grape, and did several passes to achieve the darkest tone at the top of the card, and the lightest at the bottom.

I fussy cut the flower & leaves from Flowering Foils and using my Sponge Dauber added Gorgeous Grape. I wanted a subtle multi-tone look, so I also sponge on Cherry Cobbler and Bermuda Bay...just a wee bit. Play with the colours to see what you come up with! The leaves are in Granny Apple Green.

Notice the 'spots' on the flower? That's from water. Yup, water! I sprayed a bit of water onto my fingers, then flicked the water onto the flower. I may be addicted to this technique!! It's easy and adds interest to your images.
