New Mini Catalogue | Boughs of Holly | Positive Inkers Design Team | Blog Hop

Welcome crafty friends to our Positive Inkers Global Design Team blog hop! We're super excited to be featuring new products from the just released July-Dec Mini Catalogue!

I love Christmas - everything about Christmas, however, it's July and a tad early for Christmas cards. Sooooo, my card features a Christmas set called Boughs of Holly, but I made it non-Christmas. Measurements, card and product details are in my Video Tutorial further down in this post.

My colour pallet is subtle, lending itself to many occasions - new baby, wedding, birthday, anniversay, retirement, new house...and likely more!

These colours too gorgeous together!

The care and attention to detail in Stampin' Up! dies never fails to amaze me! Check out these lovely layered die cut pieces from the Boughs of Holly Bundle!

One way to add depth and texture to your cards is to use embossing folders or background dies. For my card I used the Stitched Greenery die. It's fun & whimsical!

Heat embossing the greeting in silver helped keep the soft look of the card. It also adds an elegant shine!

When more sparkle is needed, my go-to products are Basic Rhinestone Jewels and Glittered Organdy Ribbon!

Easy Messy Blending | Nature's Prints | Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends and happy Tuesday! Today I'm sharing a messy blending technique that is easy and effective as a background!

Why messy blending? Because it lets you be creative and being messy is fun! It also takes away some of the blending 'rules'. So come with me my rebel friends and let's get messy!

For this card I've used Starry Sky - a new In Colours from Stampin' Up! In my Video Tutorial further down in this post, I used 2 colours! All meaurements and card details are given during my video.

BLENDING BRUSHES #153611

Prior to Stampin' Up! offering Blending Brushes, I had purchased some brushes from Amazon, and truthfully, they were okay, but the Stampin' Up! brushes are far superior! I wouldn't say that unless I stood behind the product 100%!

The images from Nature's prints heat emboss so easily! I used white embossing powder, which against the blue of the Starry Sky ink pops!

I never get tired of this blending technique! You get an amazing background that's one of a kind and it is such a huge WOW factor! I hope you'll give it a try!

Another Sneak Peek | Annual Catalogue | Positive Inkers Blog Hop

Here's my finished card!

I'm featuring several new goodies from the catalogue.

Can you spot them?

Love love love the Hues of Happiness designer series paper!

Gorgeous colours that give the flowers depth. The paper for the greeting is from the back of the same paper, and I heat embossed 'best wishes' from the Happiness Abounds stamp set in white, then cut it using a banner die from Stylish Shapes.

Next, I die cut the flowers using the Blossoming Happiness dies.

Also new - the greenery, or in this case, the white greenery 😊

I used the wreath in the Natural Print dies, cut it apart to use as leaves & sprigs.

I fell head over heals for the Dots & Spots die! What a super background for projects!

Pinafore Dress | All Things Fabulous | Fabulous Florals Dies

Happy Tuesday crafty friends! I am excited to show you the card I created using All Things Fabulous and the coordinating Fabulous Florals dies from Stampin' Up!

My though was to design a card that looked like a dress or apron, with flowers. I had never seen a card done in this style with a cutout at the top.

I love the colour & pattern in the Hand-Penned DSP and chose my inks. It may look like 7 colours, but it's 4! First generation and second generation stamping offers up different shades of colours!

Aren't these gorgeous colours together!!

One of my fave techniques is to add texture to paper! For my card, I used the Stitched Greenery die - check out the intricate detail!

I love the elegant look inside of my card! If you're like me, you always stamp lots of extra pieces to use for other cards or decorating the inside of your cards!
