Thank you - Kylie's International Blog Highlights

Welcome to my blog!  Today I'm excited to show you my card for Kylie's International Blog Highlights!  There are many talented card makers around the world participating! It's very exciting!

The theme is 'Thank You'.

Here's my card.  There's a voting button further down in the post.

I went with a very subtle look for my card.  For the poppy I used vellum with Whisper White, and cut them using the Peaceful Moments dies.  Also using those same dies, I cut the long leafy greenery.  To achieve the colours in the leaves,  I used my Water Painters & Coastal Cabana ink refill.  The 3 small leaves were cut using dies from Nature's Roots.

Colours used for the flower centre are a mix of Magenta Madness & Gorgeous Grape.
It looks like the flower is smiling!

That sweet little 'thank you', from Love of Leaves turned out to be the perfect size for this card as I wanted a sentiment small enough to not over shadow the flower.

Only the Top 10 make it into the International Blog Hop.

My card is #2 in the gallery.  I hope you'll vote for my card.

Sale-A-Bration Flowering Foils & a Blog Hop!

Stampin' Up's Flowering Foils are super easy to colour - no experience required!  And even better - this paper is FREE with a $60 order during Sale-A-Bration!!  Hi friends and welcome to our monthly blog hop!  We're excited to have to join us in our Sale-A-Bration Hop!

You can colour the gorgeous Flowering Foils using Stampin' Blends, Sponge Daubers and our Sponge Brayer.  For this card I've chosen the first 2 options.  Follow this link to see my lovely hombre card background using the Sponge Brayer.

To create deep, rich flowers, I used 3 ink colours - Blackberry Bliss, Real Red and Mango Melody.  You can get a similar range of colours using 1 or 2 inks, simply by adding more ink to your Sponge Dauber.  I was experimenting and curious to see what would happen with the 3 very different colours!  A mystery, for sure!!   I started with the Blackberry Bliss and ended with Mango Melody, Then coloured the leaves and berries in Old Olive & Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends respectively.

Give yourself permission to play with colours!  You might surprise yourself!

For the sentiment, which is from Peaceful Moments, I head embossed in white, then cut the end using the Banner Triple Punch.  Oh...and the bling - those are from our Noble Peacock Rhinestones!

I haven't given enough love to our Terracotta Tile cardstock....until today!!  Who knew the coloured flowers would be such a perfect match!?!  The layer is Crumb Cake, embossed using the Brick & Mortar folder.  I love that little extra texture!

Congratulations with Peaceful Poppies & a Blog Hop!

I'm crazy excited to have you see the card I made for this blog hop! Our theme is Mini Catalogue/Sale-A-Bration!

My inspiration for the background technique on this card came from the very talented Martin Stone, UK Demonstrator.
You'll need 3 Sponge Daubers for the background. Work in sections - about a third of the card for each colour.  I first applied Melon Mambo, then Rich Razzleberry, and then Blackberry Bliss.
It will have an hombre look when you finish.

Now the highly technical part ðŸ˜‰

Dip your fingers into a glass of water,
then
flick the water onto the background piece
(the flowers & leaves are not on the card at this point)
The colour is magically lifted from the water spots!  I know, wow...eh!
Once you're happy with the look, use a cloth or paper towel to gently pat the excess water.
Congrats!  💖
You've created an awesome spacey-looking background!

Check out those gorgeous flowers and leaves!
They're the Peaceful Poppies Elements!

You'll find the Peaceful Poppies Elements on Page 25 of the Mini Catalogue.
They're only $8.75 - say what!!!

You get 8 sheets total
* 2 sheets black die-cut elements with black foil prints: labels, banners, borders
* 2 sheets white thick cardstock die cuts with coloured prints: poppies
* 2 sheets vellum die cuts with white prints: poppies and leaves
* 2 sheets watercolor paper die cuts with clear UV prints for watercolouring: poppies and leaves

You definitely need to get the Peaceful Poppies Elements!  Maybe 2 or 3 packages!!
They're a fantastic price and your cards will be fabulous!

I used my Aqua Painter & Re-Inkers to apply colour to the flowers & leaves.
Colours are Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron & Pretty Peacock.  The larger green leaves were coloured using my Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blend.
I heat embossed the sentiment, which is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, in White embossing powder onto Basic Black cardstock.  Pssst...if you aren't heat embossing - you need to!

Arrange the flowers & leaves, popping some up on dimensionals.

I used a base of Melon Mambo cardstock, followed by a layer of Champagne foil sheet, then the gorgeous background piece.

What do you think?  I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Peaceful Moments - Another WOW Card!

Sometimes when I create a card, I get those 'I wonder' moments.  I wonder how this same card would look in different colours or if I changed this, or that. Do you get those 'I wonder' moments?

I love love love the Peaceful Moments Bundle!  Okay...the whole Peaceful Poppies Suite! 😊 So, when that 'I wonder' moment hit, I went with it.  I had cut out the pieces a couple of days ago, but sometimes life gets busy!

The instructions for this card are on my previous post, including the how-to video here.
This time I used Blackberry Bliss for a deep, rich colour, and the coordinating Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.

A close up of the flowers!  Use the tip I gave you on the video to adhere the flower layers easily.

Switch up the sentiment for birthdays, and other occasions with the Peaceful Moments stamp set which is all sentiments! Yay!

If you wish to purchase the products used to make this card, please use Host Code ZY9Y2EX7 at the checkout.  Shop my online store here.

If you wish to get the absolute best value for your hard-earned money, the information is in the 2 pictures below.

In this example, I used a $40 value for your free stamp set.  Naturally, the amounts will vary a bit, depending on the stamp set you choose & if your province charges tax.  Tip: choose the most expensive stamp set on your list.
If your order is $100 or more, I recommend you purchase the Starter Kit.  I want to you know everything about the 20-25% discount and benefits for you, so I urge you to read this post.

Peaceful Moments WOW Card - Stampin' Up!

I showed this card to my 21 year old son, who said 'Wow' and he couldn't have said it better!  You can't you go wrong with the Peaceful Moments bundle!

Purchase this as a bundle and you save 10% - item #153824. Please use my host code ZY9Y2EX7 at the checkout of my online store.  You can add this gorgeous bundle to your Starter Kit!  Read more about the Starter Kit in this post.

Here's the card recipe (in inches):

Base - Whisper White Thick, cut at 4 1/4 x 11
Inside the card - Peaceful Poppies DSP cut at 1 3/4 x 4 1/4
Scrap - Poppy Parade, Whisper White & Basic Black
Sentiment Layer - from the Peaceful Poppies Elements

In the video below, I show you how to assemble the card:

Want it all?  The entire suite in the Starter Kit? Is it possible? Yes!

It will work! I'll show you how you can get the entire Peaceful Poppies Suite in your Starter Kit!

First, let's go over what you get when you sign up/join my team:
  • the Starter Kit is only $135 (and no tax in most provinces!!)
  • your kit ships FREE (you've saved 10%)
  • you get to choose $165 in products
  • you get the freebies during Sale-a-Bration, which are the Mini Paper Trimmer, the 48 sheet 6 x 6 DSP sampler, AND a stamp set of your choice - any price, any catalogue. WOW!

But if I get to choose $165, how can I get the entire Peaceful Poppies Suite, which is $186.25?
Stay with me - here's how:
  • rather than use the single product code for the suite, you enter the individual product numbers listed with the items
  • when you get to the Painted Poppies Bundle, enter the code for the Painted Labels Dies #151605, not the bundle #
  • then, for your free stamp set, you'll add in the Painted Poppies stamp set #151599
  • Brilliant!  You now have the entire suite!
Here's the Peaceful Poppies suite:
  • 19 stamps
  • 25 dies
  • Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper (which is gorgeous!)
  • Peaceful Poppies Sequins
  • Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
  • Peaceful Poppies Elements

Isn't that amazing!!  And I love that you have options!  Purchase the products you want, the bundle you want, or the entire suite!  Plus, I've shown you above how to get the entire suite in your Starter Kit!

I want you to make an informed decision about joining.  Is it great getting a discount - yes!! But there's so much more.  So, please read this post, and if you're ready, click on the Joining is the Best Option link.

Of course, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
