Tranquil Tulips from Stampin' Up!

I thought I would try something a little different today - jumping right into the details of my card today.

There is something so striking about a black and white card with a pop of colour!  I love it, and just in case you're wondering, I briefly pondered a white card base, but it was too plain for this card.

I cut the base of the in Basic Black, then embossed the layer of Berry Burst cardstock using my Softly Falling TIEF.  Those gorgeous floral images are from Tranquil Tulips. I'm lovin' the colour combo of Berry Burst and Old Olive for the tulips and leaves!  How about that amazing font on the sentiment - elegant and the perfect size for the oval in my Stitched Shapes Framelits.

You know me - must pop up those sentiments with dimensionals!

I was asked to leave lots of room for a personal message.

One thing I want to mention is Tranquil Tulips is a host set.  What that means is, when you place a qualifying order, or host a party (virtual or in person), you could get this set FREE! To book your party or place an order, simply click on the Contact Me tab at the top of the page.

Tip

When working with a two-step stamp, such as Tranquil Tulips, take a few minutes practice stamp the images on your grid paper. It's super easy to be two-step pro!

In Gratitude

I have wonderful neighbours!  Last evening my neighbour trimmed our shared hedge, which is awesome as I don't have that tool.  We share a boulevard so I cut the grass there often.  In winter (gasp, I said winter!!), if we have a heavy snowfall, my other neighbour clears my driveway and sidewalk with his snowblower.  I noticed this neighbour was away, and his lawn was in need of a cut, so I took care of it.  One couldn't ask for better neighbours. 😊

Daisy Delight Bundle

I've been working on a project that joins two of my favourite paper crafts - quilling and the new Daisy Delight Bundle from Stampin' Up!  Oh...and one of the new in colours - Berry Burst.

For these flowers, I stamped Berry Burst ink onto Whisper White and Berry Burst cardstock, then punched them out using my new Daisy Punch.  Each flower requires two sets of petals.  Assembly is easy - just a couple of glue dots to adhere the flower layers.  Be sure to offset the petals for the best affect. I used more glue dots to adhere the flowers to the stems, which are 18 gauge wire.

I cut 1/4 inch wide by 10 inch long strips of Whisper White and Berry Burst card stock.  To fringe the paper, I first used my kitchen snips, but found they weren't cutting finely.  My paper snips from Stampin' Up! did a wonderful job. There are expensive fringers from quilling companies, and I own one, but I prefer cutting with scissors. Once cut, I simply rolled the paper into the shape you see below and adhered them with glue dots.  Using a 1/2" Circle Punch, punch Whisper White and Berry Burst circles - one for each flower.  Poke a small hole in the circle, and 'thread' the wire through it bending the end of the wire in a loop shape. Then adhere the circle to the wire.  Last step, adhere the flower(s) to the wire, with, you've got it...glue dots!

I took the pics in my garden.  A lovely backdrop to my flowers.

Did you notice the little 'water droplet' on the Berry Burst petal on the right side of the above pic? It's a Glitter Enamel Dot - perfect for a realistic look!

Aren't these just the sweetest!

You'll love the versatility of this bundle. Use it for cards, gift tags, framed projects, bouquets and so much more!

Two Sneak Peeks! Colourful Season & In Colours 2017-2018

I found a frame at Ikea and knew it would be perfect for a little something I had in mind for my Colour Season bundle framed project. My judgement on the size was a little off (please forgive me), so I couldn't fit all the Muskoka/Adirondack chairs in the frame.  I have provided samples of the new In Colours further down in the post for you.

It's not quite summer weather yet at only 5 degrees celsius outside. thus bare feet in sandals wasn't my brightest idea...tee hee.  However, I really wanted an outdoor 'summery' pic of this project with natural light and one of my gardens in the background.  So, without further ado, here's my project. 😃

Beautiful detail in the chairs.

Don't you just love the gorgeous font in this sentiment!

Are you as excited about the  Colourful Season Bundle, and the new In Colours as me?  Then be sure to read to the end of this post! By the way - I'm big on getting value for my hard earned dollars, and as this bundle can be used all year and for many occasions - that spells v-a-l-u-e to me!  Weeee...happy dance!
