Hello | Heavenly Hollyhocks | Silver Sale-a-bration DSP

Hello my crafty friends!  Thank you for stopping by to check out my blog!  I've been super busy with my craft room reno, and if you've ever done the same, wow - it's a lot more work than expected, thus this week I don't have a video for you, but I have written a 'card recipe' further down in this post.

Today I'm sharing an elegant card that you'll be able to easily duplicate!

I just received my Stampin' Up! order, and had a fun play with the Heavenly Hollyhocks bundle!  Oooh...and in the box was my FREE Silver & Gold Sale-a-bration paper.  Sale-a-bration ends August 31, 2022, but with items being available 'while supplies last', order soon! For every $60 spend you get to choose a Sale-a-bration Freebie!

Oh so pretty colour combination!

HEAVENLY HOLLYHOCKS BUNDLE #158880

This is such a beautiful stamp set and the dies are intricate and gorgeous!  This is definitely bundle worthy of your craft stash!

This view of my card gives you a close-up look of the two layers of these floral dies. Wondering what pink paper I used?  It's from the Awash in Beauty patterned paper.  The mottled look has the appearance of texture - love it!

I'm truly amazed how quickly this card came together.  Below are the details of how I made my card.  Enjoy!

Card Recipe

Card Base - Basic Gray - 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2

Layer - Silver & Gold DSP (I used silver) - 3/4 x 5 1/2 - adhere to left side of card front

Pink Floral layer - Awash in Beauty DSP

Top Floral layer - Basic White - adhere Adhesive Sheet then die cut.  Next, remove the backing from the adhesive sheet, and starting at the stem, adhere the white layer to the pink layer.  Tip: take your time matching up the layers.

Sentiment - stamp in Basic Gray onto Awash in Beauty DSP scrap, then die cut using Stylish Shapes circle die

Ribbon - cut approximately 3" of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon. Fold in half and adhere to the card.  Next, add Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment layer and place this layer centered on top of the ribbon

Embellishments - place 5 white Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins on the card

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Approaching Perfection Birthday Card & Blog Hop!

Hello crafty friends!  I'm back today with our monthly Stamping Symphony blog hop, and am delighted to share a sweet birthday card with you.  This month our theme is Sale-a-bration and the Jan-June Mini Catalogue!

All measurements are given in my video, which is further down in this post).

Do you recognize the paper I used?  It's Flower & Field DSP from Sale-a-bration.  So pretty with florals on one side of the paper and lovely patterns on the other!

The contrast of the white against the Basic Black & Just Jade paper gives a clean crisp look to the card.  You can earn this paper FREE during Sale-a-bration!  If you wish to make a purchase, you can click on the picture links at the bottom of this post to shop with me!

FLOWER & FIELD DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

Do you heat emboss?  If not, give it a try!  Add that extra WOW to your cards!  This greeting embossed beautifully! It's from the Approaching Perfection FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set!

I heat embossed this greeting in Just Jade....say what!?!?! We don't have Just Jade embossing powder.
Here's how I did it: Using my Stamparatus, I inked up the greeting in Just Jade, cleaned the stamp in place, then stamped again using Versamark.  Next, I sprinkled Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder, tapped off the extra, and used my Heat Tool.  I wish you could see the shine on the greeting!

To cut the greeting using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I then cut the vellum piece using a Layering Circle die.  I love how the vellum adds interest to the card!

APPROACHING PERFECTION STAMP SET

These balloons are so adorable!  I coloured them using my Just Jade Stampin' Blends, then added Wink of Stella!  Those itsy bitsy bows were made using the Whisper White twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack and are held on using 1/2 of a glue dot (yup...I did cut glue dots in half!)

I'm all for visual interest on cards, and that being the case, I used one of my Curvy Dies to change the card front.  It really adds a flow and softness to the card!
