Stampin' Up! Fancy Phrases with Watercolour Pencils

Hello friends!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

For my video & blog post yesterday I used Stampin' Blends with the Fancy Phrases stamp set, and today I decided to play with our Watercolour Pencils, and am so happy with the result!

My cardbase is Basic Black as is the layer (kind of hard to see in this photo). I heat embossed the sentiment using White Stampin' Emboss Powder, and did a quick fussy cut.  I'm really getting the hang of fussy cutting and am love the look!

Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I stamped the image onto Crumb Cake cardstock.  I started with my Whisper White Watercolour Pencil and went over each flower a few times to get the white as deep as possible - that is...without using water.  Onto Mango Melody for most leaves and some of the flowers, the Granny Apple Green.  I did try a wee bit of Bermuda Bay on one of the flowers, just for a lark!  Next, I cut the paper using one of my Layering Ovals Dies.

Be sure to add this stamp set to your shopping list!
At the bottom of this post you'll find pics of all the products I used, and by clicking on the item you can shop via my online store.

The beautiful gold you see is the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper.  So pretty!  The floral layer is popped up on Dimensionals, as is the sentiment.  And guess what.....so is the Basic Black layer!  I'm all about adding depth and dimension to cards!  Are you as well?

Finishing Touches
I felt the card needed ribbon....but just a wee bit, so I cut about 1.5 inches of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon, folded it over and secured it using a Glue Dot.  And last but not least - Elegant Faceted Gems for a pretty bit of bling!

What are your thoughts on my card today?
You know I love hearing from you, so please feel free to leave a comment!

Country Club Father's Day and a Blog Hop!

Welcome to our monthly Blog Hop!  Our theme for this hop is Father's Day cards!  I'm excited to see what members of the team have created!

Here's my card!

For my card, I used the Country Club DSP.  Can you spot the 2 pieces of DSP?  The first is the argyle print, and the second is the piece I cut using the Layering Squares dies.  I also cut the Basic Gray cardstock for a layer using the same dies.  Check out the Country Club DSP in the pic below!

The patterns of the Country Club are outstanding! As you can see, the paper I chose is black & white, so I say bring on the colour! Have you tried Stampin' Up! Watercolour Pencils?  There's something about colouring that's therapeutic - you can relax and take your time. The colours I used are Granny Apple Green, Old Olive and Early Espresso.

I love the fresh look of Pool Party, and especially when embossed with the Pinewood Planks folder!  Look closely and you'll see I ripped the paper....on purpose!  Gasp!  Honestly, at the time I was thinking that I didn't want a straight line.  So voila!

The sentiment from the Honey Bee stamp set 'Celebrate every moment' works for this Father's Day card, and so many other occasions!  I used Basic Gray ink, and stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White, then cut the banner end using the Tailored Tag Punch. at the checkout.

Please note: the Honey Bee stamp set (and dies) are retiring!  This popular bundle is not being carried over to the next catalogue, and will only available while supplies last...so, order them very soon - right HERE, and please use my current Host Code MPWZTV7F at the checkout.

A wee bit of 'pop' using the new Watercolour Pencils!

Super pretty!  This bundle is a must-have!

I love how the pretty Under the Mistletoe DSP brings a festive mood to this card!
I used the Stitched Season framelits to create a framed space for the sentiment - all popped up with dimensionals.  Then using my Cherry Cobbler blender pen, I coloured the pearls & also on Sparkle Glimmer Paper & die cut the bow.  Simple & pretty!

For this card I used my new Watercolour Pencils to colour the leaves, then used the Stitched Season framelits to die cut the 'greenery'.
