Stampin' Up! Elegant Basket of Blooms Card

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I have another card to show you using the Basket of Blooms stamp set. In my previous post  I made a fun card, full of colour, so for this card, I wanted to offer a subtle elegant card.  This is the type of versatility I love in stamp sets!

When I'm making a no layer card, my preference is to use Whisper White Thick cardstock.  To create the subtle watercolour wash, I put one drop of Magenta Madness ink on an acrylic block, and used one of the new Water Painters to apply the colour.  That one drop of ink needed to be diluted with water to achieve the colour, and I tested it on scrap paper before moving to the cardstock.

Tip: As this isn't watercolour paper, you want to make sure to use just a few brushstrokes on the paper, otherwise the paper will pill from the water in the ink.

As mentioned, I wanted a subtle look, so Smoky Slate was my choice of ink.  The greenery was stamped and cut using the Forever Fern bundle.  The other greenery is the white side of the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty DSP.  Yes, I did fussy cut the vase, and it was super quick & easy!!

Using my Heat Tool, I embossed the sentiment from the Gorgeous Posies stamp set in Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, then cut it using my Paper Trimmer.  I think popping up the sentiment & vase with Dimensionals gives amazing depth to the card.  Pretty!

What are your thoughts on my card today?
