Easy Watercolouring with Peaceful Poppies

Watercolouring is seriously easy with the Peaceful Poppies Elements!  Here we are, day 5 of my week of videos, although there's only 4 videos...sorry - FB issue yesterday.  But all is not lost!  We finished the cards on a new video today!

I used my Aqua Painter & re-inkers to colour the flowers & leaves - Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Mossy Meadow & Old Olive.   During the 'failed' video, I had a request for Orange....which currently Stampin' Up! doesn't have...soooooooooooo.....I mixed Melon Mambo & Mango Melody!  Playing with colour combos is a lot of fun!!

For this card I wanted the colours to be the focus, so I chose a Whisper White base & layer (which I embossed using the Coastal Weave 3D folder.

In the video below, I made a 2nd card and showed you all the cards made with the Peaceful Poppies Elements.

Congratulations with Peaceful Poppies & a Blog Hop!

I'm crazy excited to have you see the card I made for this blog hop! Our theme is Mini Catalogue/Sale-A-Bration!

My inspiration for the background technique on this card came from the very talented Martin Stone, UK Demonstrator.
You'll need 3 Sponge Daubers for the background. Work in sections - about a third of the card for each colour.  I first applied Melon Mambo, then Rich Razzleberry, and then Blackberry Bliss.
It will have an hombre look when you finish.

Now the highly technical part ðŸ˜‰

Dip your fingers into a glass of water,
then
flick the water onto the background piece
(the flowers & leaves are not on the card at this point)
The colour is magically lifted from the water spots!  I know, wow...eh!
Once you're happy with the look, use a cloth or paper towel to gently pat the excess water.
Congrats!  💖
You've created an awesome spacey-looking background!

Check out those gorgeous flowers and leaves!
They're the Peaceful Poppies Elements!

You'll find the Peaceful Poppies Elements on Page 25 of the Mini Catalogue.
They're only $8.75 - say what!!!

You get 8 sheets total
* 2 sheets black die-cut elements with black foil prints: labels, banners, borders
* 2 sheets white thick cardstock die cuts with coloured prints: poppies
* 2 sheets vellum die cuts with white prints: poppies and leaves
* 2 sheets watercolor paper die cuts with clear UV prints for watercolouring: poppies and leaves

You definitely need to get the Peaceful Poppies Elements!  Maybe 2 or 3 packages!!
They're a fantastic price and your cards will be fabulous!

I used my Aqua Painter & Re-Inkers to apply colour to the flowers & leaves.
Colours are Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron & Pretty Peacock.  The larger green leaves were coloured using my Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blend.
I heat embossed the sentiment, which is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, in White embossing powder onto Basic Black cardstock.  Pssst...if you aren't heat embossing - you need to!

Arrange the flowers & leaves, popping some up on dimensionals.

I used a base of Melon Mambo cardstock, followed by a layer of Champagne foil sheet, then the gorgeous background piece.

What do you think?  I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
