Masculine Birthday Card | Double Fun-Fold | Tasteful Touches Stamp Set

Thanks for popping by my blog! Today I'm sharing a double fun-fold card featuring some our our retiring products! I'm certain you'll want to give this quick & easy fun fold a try!

A little confession - I took loads of pics of my card, but it kept coming out with a pink hue. Weird, eh! Anyway, the colours I used are - Basic Black, layers are Basic Gray and the In Good Taste designer series paper.

My video turotial further down in this post should help reflect the colours better. 😊

Gasp! I stamped the feather image on the front and inside parts of my card! Too much? There's a reason - and it's to keep the flow of the card. I have to say though, I love the feathers and am lovin' the inside of my card! Yay feathers!

It's bittersweet seeing two of my fave products retire. My beloved Tasteful Labels dies have cut numerous sentiments and layers, and I'll miss them, but I know the next Annual catalogue will bring many new treasures!

Also retiring - my #1 fave embossing folder Tasteful Textile, and Tailored Tag Punch, which not only cuts greetings, it's an awesome banner-maker!

Now the last time I checked they were still available, but that could change pretty fast in the Last Chance Sale!

My goal was to create a masculine card - a struggle of mine! It wasn't planned, but I managed to add a bit of bling to my card. When I heat embossed the greeting, a few specks of white embossing powder stuck to the card. So, I tapped Wink of Stella all over to cover up my little oopsie!

Stampin' Up! Timeless Tulips Faux Window Box

Hi friends and welcome to my blog! I have a fun and happy card for you today!

I cut a few flowers using my Tulip Builder punch and had planned to make this card during my Friday video. However when my daughter called asking if I could be with her at the hospital to help with her 3 month old after his surgery, of course I said yes. View my previous post to watch how I did the ink blending for these flowers.

Colour Combo for the Blended Ink Technique

The 3 on the left were blended, the 3 on the right were blended.

What makes this technique so interesting is how the flicks of water land on the paper and leave such wonderful and unique designs!

My card base & layer are both Blackberry Bliss, with the layer cut using one of my Stitched Rectangle dies as is the In Good Taste DSP. The tulips on the outside were adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and I popped up the middle tulip with Dimensionals. I had a scrap of the DSP and thought it would make a really cute 'window box'! Then I saw my Square Vellum Doilies, cut about a third of the doily and voila, a nice little window dressing!

I heat embossed the sentiment, from Tasteful Touches onto Vellum using Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, then fussy cut it.
