Christmas in July Blog Hop

It's been pretty hot outside these days, and you may not be thinking of Christmas quite yet, but you will be once you take a look at the cards we have for you in this Blog Hop!

At our last Tri-City team meeting we did a swap of Christmas cards.  Such gorgeous cards!

I almost forgot how much I love Cherry Cobbler cardstock, and when it's with Whisper White cardstock and glimmer paper die cut snowflakes - it's simply stunning!
To get that curve in the Whisper White layer, I used my Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and then glued the die cut piece for the 'snow'.

Merry Christmas is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, punched using my Classic Label punch and popped up with dimensionals.  Using my Seasonal Layers Thinllits, I die cut the snowflakes.  They are so pretty done with Silver Glimmer Paper!

I just love the fonts & sentiments in the Christmas Pines set.  Once again, I used Cherry Cobbler ink, and my Pretty Label punch for a lovely shape around the sentiment.  Popped up again with dimensionals.

A Spring Wedding

I attended my nephew's wedding yesterday and my heart is full of joy!  When the bride started walking down the isle I almost burst into tears. Stephanie was so beautiful and glowing with love, smiling at her groom.  Andrew is a lucky man!

Naturally, I made a special card for this joyous occasion.

If you haven't guessed already, I'm a huge fan of white on white cards, and embossing.  For this card I used my Softly Falling TIEF on the Whisper White layer, then die cut the heart in Blushing Bride and the 'congrats' sentiment in Silver Glimmer Paper both from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

This sentiment is perfect for a wedding card.
Both the sentiment and flower images are from Colourful Seasons.

Oh boy, I am one determined gal. I wanted the 'congrats' sentiment raised so I cut a dimensional into slivers and used tweezers to place them on the back of the sentiment.  So happy it worked!

A simple, yet elegant card, made with love for Stephanie and Andrew.

The happy couple.

Below are some of the supplies I used.
Not pictured: Whisper White paper, Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I love hearing from you. Please feel free to leave a comment.

Birthday Sparkle

A show of hands - who like sparkles??  I do, I do!!  I'm certain my mom does too, and this is her birthday card.  Just finished it, today, on her birthday.  Note to inspiration - we're cuttin' it a tad close, but it will be delivered on time later today to the party.

Truth be known, I really had planned on finishing the card earlier, but another trip to emergency for mom redirected my focus.  Lung infection caught early - whew!  Thankfully, I have a feisty mother who said,  'no way am I going to spend my birthday in the hospital' (numerous exclamation marks). My sister and I have a party planned - mmMMMmmm delicious homemade lasagnas and other yummy foods (desserts), plus presents for mom..

My original thought was to make a pink card with some embellishments, but it wasn't working for me.  I'm so relieved and overjoyed knowing the party is a go!  The sentiment expresses how I'm feeling.

I found this really sweet butterfly embossing folder to use on the layer, and using my silver sparkle paper and red glimmer paper I die cut the butterfly and happy.  The detail on the butterfly are cuts made from the Stampin' Up! die, but bad me....I didn't use SU paper and the little pieces in the butterfly wouldn't come out.  I'm okay with it, although I'm making a mental note to not use vinyl backed paper with detailed dies.

Lots to do before the party!  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Crafting and Happy Birthday to Mom.

Trio of Quilled Ornaments

I'm back!  The reno of my Mom's house took longer than expected - a month and three days longer!!  The house looks fantastic and we couldn't be more pleased with the results.  With the reno was done, it was time for some much needed rest....or not....LOL  Back to quilling and crafts.

Theses three lovely quilled ornaments are a custom order and they'll be going on a black Christmas tree.  I think the awesome colour combo, chosen by my shopper, are going to look awesome on the tree and the colours, dare I say, are going to pop!  Hmmm...there must be a better word than pop.

The papers I use are from Quilled Creations and as always for the top of the ornament, the gorgeous glimmer paper from Stampin' Up!, and it sparkles like crazy!

I wanted to show you the bottom of the ornament. It takes 4 strips of 17" long paper done in a tight coil, then shaped over the point - see the picture below.

Let's hope it's not so long between posts!  Happy Crafting!
