Goals are Good, and a Thank You card!

Just like many of you, I set goals for myself.  Attainable, realistic, but still a bit of a 'reach' goals. The goal I've set relates to my Stampin' Up! business. And, when I reach a goal, I celebrate!  You are very much a part of the goal and the celebration!  Here's the scoop - starting April 3/18, when you place an order, your name will be entered in a draw.  When I reach my Stampin' Up! business goal, I'll draw a name, and the winner will get a FREE stamp set.   This is open to Canadian residents only.

Ooooh! There's more!!  Every Tuesday I do a Facebook Live video on my Lolly & Sand Group.  When you share my video with your friends, you get a ballot for my weekly Happy Mail draw.  And, if you place a $35 or more order & share my video - you get 2 ballots!  The video stays on Facebook, so you can watch it anytime.

Hey....how about a card!  This is one of the cards I made on my FB live video.

My son asked me how I got a wood grain look on this card.  I used Wood Textures DSP - a 'must have' stack of paper, great for cards & home decor projects!  This particular piece of paper is actually quite light in colour.  I wanted it to be blue like the card base, so I rolled my Sponge Brayer onto my Marina Mist ink pad, then onto the paper.  An easy peasy change-up!
I've never done heat embossing during my videos, that is until April 3.  If you're new to heat embossing, this technique is magic!  Or not LOL.  What it is, is easy and fun!
Your first step when heat embossing is to use your embossing buddy (see product list below), to wipe across the  paper.  It helps remove static.  I used a stamp from one of my all-time favourite stamp sets - Lovely as a Tree.  The sentiment is from the Petal Palette set in the Occasions catalogue.
Next step - ink up the stamp using Versamark, then stamp onto your paper.  You won't be able to see the stamped image very well, but that's okay - the image is there. 😊
Your next step is to 'pour' your embossing powder onto the paper. Make sure to pour out lots!  Now you'll see the image, as the embossing powder sticks to the Versamark.  Tap the extra powder off the card onto a piece of scrap paper, or whatever you choose to collect the powder, and put it back into the container.  The 'magic\ happens when you use your heat tool.  Be really really careful - heat tools give off, well, heat, and lots of it!
That's pretty much it.  The base of the card is Soft Sky (I didn't have Marina Mist card stock), and the layer is Copper Foil paper.

The dimensions are available on my video.

Thank you for stopping by!  Your comments & support mean so much to me!

Heartfelt Blooms

I had a great weekend - a day trip, perfect weather and a bit of stamping! And speaking of stamping, the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set is truly unique.  When you look at the stamp, it looks flat, but  appearances can be deceiving!  Stamp with it, and you'll get an amazing image.

Here's a simple card made with the Heartfelt Blooms stamp.

I stamped the floral image in Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then adhered the Basic Gray layer. Using Watercolour Pencils, Next, I added just a hint of colour to a few flowers and leaves,  The base of the card is Pink Pirouette - it's such a pretty colour!!
I love the font in this sentiment.  It's from the Petal Palette stamp set. I stamped it using Basic Gray ink then punched each end with my Triple Banner Punch and popped it up using dimensionals.

Here's another view of the floral image.  So lovely!  This stamp set is only available during
Sale-A-Bration, which ends March 31.  With a $60 order, you can get the Heartfelt Bloom stamp set FREE!  To shop, click here.

Here's a video showing a few more stamping options.

Petal Palette & Celebrate You!

Good morning to you on this beautiful sunny day!  When the sun is shining brightly, I find myself with an extra perk of energy!!  How about you?

As I'm feeling spunky today, I decided to write about the projects I made for my 'Tuesdays at Two' weekly Facebook Live video.  I discovered FB live isn't rocket science, although I have one more little hurdle since my video was sideways.  Oops!  I have until next Tuesday to figure that out! 😊

I really like this card - the black & white plus the pop of colour - makes me happy! And, it features 2 Sale-A-Bration products and 2 Occasions products!  For the base of the card, I used a Whisper White Notecard.  At 5" x 3-1/2" and thicker than regular cardstock, this is everything I wanted for a small card, plus the notecards come with envelopes!

The striped layer is the new Petal Passion DSP available in the Occasions catalogue. I'm getting into Stampin' Blends big time, which is what I used to colour the flowers, leaves and sweet little bird, both from the Petal Palette Bundle (Occasions catalogue).  The blends I used are Old Olive and Daffodil Delight.

I stamped the word 'Let's' from the Amazing You FREE Sale-A-Bration set in Memento Ink using onto Whisper White cardstock, then fussy cut it.  Next, also FREE from Sale-A-Bration I die cut Celebrate, and You, using my Celebrate You Thinlits.

How cute is the bird!!!

Project 2:

These Mini Pizza boxes, a Holiday Favourite are still available!  Woot!  Super cute!
For this project, I once again used my Petal Palette Bundle and Stampin' Blends. This time I used Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake blends

I've layered Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper on top of Black Black cardstock, and for the next die cut layers I used Island Indigo and Silver Foil paper, both die cut with Layering Circles Framelits.

I love the delicate look of the foliage!

Now to my 3rd project!

I cut Basic Black cardstock 8" x 4", which folds nicely into a 4" x 4" card.  In the Occasions catalogue, you'll find Myths & Magic Glimmer paper.  Sparkly goodness!!  It was a toss-up - use the light green or iridescent (the torquoise wasn't a contender for this card)
With light green as the winner, I die cut it with the Celebate You Thinlits (yours FREE with a $120 order), then using the same thinlits, die cut 'amazing' in Silver Foil paper. As an extra layer of bling, I also die cut the light green glimmer paper using Layering Circles Framelits. The final layer, in Silver Foil paper was die cut using Stitched Shapes Framelits.

It's easy to see why I love the Petal Palette stamp set, and Stampin' Blends.  Lovely and so easy to colour!  The Celebrate You Thinlits are wonderful, and trust me, your cards will be....amazing!
