Irresistible Blooms | Birthday | Positive Inkers Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome crafty friends!  It's the first of the month and time for our Positive Inkers Design team to share cards we created using our Sketch Challenge!

At the bottom of this post is my video tutorial with all the card details.

Stampin' Up! Bundle: Irresistible Blooms

Paper: Basic White, Sweet Sorbet, Ready to Ride, Sun Prints

I had so much fun making this card!  I love playing with colours and textures.  Embossing folders are the easiest way to add texture, and for this card I used one of the brand new 3D embossing folders for the layer and the solid leaves.

I changed up the card a wee bit in my video (bottom of page)

I love the freedom to think outside the box with sketch challenges.  They aren't just squares and circles to me.

Look closely at the flowers - I heat embossed onto one of the prints from Sun Prints.  It's a very subtle enhancement.

With the extra pieces, I love to decorate the inside of my cards.  A lovely surprise for the recipient!

True Beauty | Stamping Off Technique | Just Because Handmade Card

Hello crafty friends!  I am in l-o-v-e!  Been swept off my feet!  It was love at first sight!
I'm talking about the amazing True Beauty Bundle from the Stampin' Up!

Here's my card!  For full details, including measurements, be sure to what my YouTube Video Tutorial further down in this post.

I love everything about this bundle!  The watercolour appearance of the images, dies, and of course, the greetings.

My colour pallet used on my card today.  What do you think - love, like, nah?

If you're not familiar with the stamping off technique - it's super easy.  Ink up your stamp, then stamp either onto scrap paper or the paper you're using for your images. Then, without inking again, stamp your image.  I also explain this in my video.

A embossed layer will add texture to any card!  I chose the Timeworm Type 3D folder because it's very subtle, and doesn't interfere with the floral images.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Simple Blending | Simple Heat Embossing | Hand-Penned Petals | Heartfelt Thank You Card

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I'm so happy to be sharing a project with you that's crisp & clean with a burst of colour!  Every once in a while I can't figure out what to make and I end up with lots of pieces and no plan.  Does that happen to you as well?  I walk away for a bit, and when I come back refreshed, the card comes together!

Here's my card.

I love how simple layers add texture and depth to cards!  For my card I chose the Timeworn Type folder from Stampin' Up! as my first layer - it's subtle - subtlety that is needed to avoid overtaking the focal point of the card.

Love these colours together?
Wait 'til you view my Video Tutorial further down in this post!
I changed up one of the colours!

Now for the burst of colour!  Do you use Blending Brushes?  I do - they help add colour quickly and they're sooooo easy to use!  Once the ink dried, I heat embossed the floral image in black, then cut it using a die from Penned Flowers. Super pretty!

Have you seen the beautiful images & lovely greetings in the Nature's Prints stamp set?  A must-have set for sure!  I heat embossed the greeting in black on our Kraft paper, then cut using Tailor Made Tags.
